Kieron is from Wales and completed his Bachelor's degree in Biological and Medical Sciences at the University of Liverpool, England. During and following completion of his Undergraduate degree Kieron was involved in a number of additional training and research internships. Most recently he worked on a project to investigate improvement of drug delivery in Glioblastoma using nanotherapeutics, as part of the RCSI StAR summer internship scheme. Working on this project ignited and enhanced his passion to pursue a career in the field of cancer research and in particular Glioblastoma. During the GLIOTRAIN programme, Kieron will be based in RCSI, Dublin, researching into "Anti-angiogenic immunotherapy as a new treatment paradigm in Glioblastoma (GBM) molecular subtypes" under the supervision of Prof. Annette Byrne. Kieron is also a very keen sportsman, competing in athletics and rugby as well as enjoying several other sports and adventurous outdoor activities.
