The mobility of early stage researchers between industry, academia and other research organisations is a fundamental training element of Marie Curie programmes. It ensures that Marie Curie students will have been exposed to at least two research environments before they move on to the next stage of their careers. All GLIOTRAIN students must undertake at least one inter-disciplinary secondment. All of our students have now completed at least one secondment.  Since October 2019 the following secondments have taken place.

The 2nd GLIOTRAIN transferable skills course was held at Beneficiary EMC, Rotterdam and was run in conjunction with the communications department at EMC and with Zeehaas, a communications company with speciality in science writing and communication. The focus of the course was manifold.

Many of our students have now completed at least one secondment or are currently on secondment.

GLIOTRAIN ESRs attended the Transcriptomics and Single Cell RNA-Seq Analysis Course held at VIB in August 2018. Following the course, ESRs were asked to work together to review the event, which you can read below.

Between the 23^rd and 26^th April 2018, 14 of our recruited early stage researchers (ESRs) attended the first Network-wide training event of the GLIOTRAIN Training Programme. The Introductory Programme was designed to introduce the ESRs to the project as a whole, to the PIs, the management team and of course to meet each other for the first time.

Two of our ESRs, Viktorija (RCSI) and Chiara (Univeristy of Stuttgart) visited Erasmus MC in Rotterdam for 2 days' training in Cell culture techniques last week. Thanks to Dr Martine Lamfers for this excellent opportunity and thanks for our two Erasmus MC ESRs (Ioannis and Federica) and for showing Viktorija and Chiara around Rotterdam!
